Mary Jane Goes to Boarding School: The Letters, 1863-1865 (Hybrid)

From her many letters, learn about Mary Jane Leekley, a fifteen year old girl who was sent away from the Galena area to boarding school during the Civil War. These letters offer an intimate peek into her life, family, and 1860’s Galena.
Presented by her great granddaughter, senior lecturer emerita (UW Platteville), and long time Galena Historical Society curator, Tracey Lee Roberts.
