Machine Sewing for Beginners (in-person)

March 15 @ 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

Sewing machine

Bring your sewing machine and join Sandra Schultz to learn how to use a rotary cutter and sew a pillow case.

Do you have a sewing machine, but you’re not quite sure how to start a project? This is the program for you. Sandra will start at the beginning and by the end you will have made a pillow case. Register here: https://machinesewingatgpl.eventbrite.com

You’ll need to bring:

  • Your sewing machine,
  • 3/4 yard of a fabric of your choice for the body,
  • 1/4 yard of a complimentary fabric of your choice for the cuff,
  • 2″x41″ of a fabric of your choice for the flange,
  • and a universal size (80) machine needle.

There will be thread on hand at the library. Fabric will not be provided, so attendees can choose their own patterns and colors. The finished pillow case will fit a standard size bed pillow.

Anyone ten and up are welcome to attend. Those under fifteen years old need to have an adult parter.

Sandra has been sewing since 1986 or so. She loves quilting and sewing fancy little special occasion dresses for her granddaughters. She’s altered wedding dresses, made veils and altered prom and bridesmaid dresses for family members. She also enjoys sewing special use bags for herself and friends and family.
