Galena LitFest: Lessons Learned Writing History (virtual)

While sharing his journey of writing and publishing Civil War history, Thomas B. Mack, Ph.D will cover lessons learned in finding sources, ensuring the work is accurate, and completing a historical nonfiction manuscript.

Thomas B. Mack, Ph.D is the author of The Lead Mine Men: The Enduring 45th Illinois Volunteer Infantry. His research focuses on regimental studies of the American Civil War as experienced by the soldiers in both armies. B. Galena LitFest 2025 is the eleventh annual literary festival organized and funded by the Galena Public Library with support from the Friends of the Galena Public Library and in partnership with the Galena Center for the Arts, Miss Kitty’s Grape Escape, and Hawk Valley Retreat & Cottages. Events will take place throughout January in-person and virtually.
