Heart and Soul: Art Show Reception with Mackenzie Jane Witman

Heart and soul is an art exhibit featuring a series of paintings and poems created by Mackenzie Jane Witman about her journey to heal from childhood trauma and repair her broken heart.
Witman will be present for the show’s opening reception, after which the work will remain on display at the Galena Public Library until February 28.
Mackenzie Jane Witman is an artist living in East Dubuque with her family. She takes inspiration from her loved ones and the world around her, finding ideas for her art in some of the most unlikely places. She enjoys reading, writing, and pretty much any crafty project she can find time to do. Mackenzie uses her art as a coping tool for dealing with her PTSD and anxiety, as well as to form connection with other people who may have experienced the same. She believes creating art is how she gets to know herself and make her soul sing.
