A Musical Journey Down the Mississippi River

DSO’s Storytime Symphony takes young listeners on a journey down the mighty Mississippi River – from Iowa and Illinois, past frogs and river creatures, through the Mississippi Delta, and all the way to vibrant New Orleans. Featuring engaging stories, lively music, and interactive moments, this program introduces children to orchestral music through storytelling and sound.

Featuring DSO Principal musicians: Rose Bishop, flute; Chanmi Kim, oboe; Emily Hancock, clarinet; William George, bassoon; Trevor Healy, French horn. With music by Valerie Coleman, Jenni Brandon, and Lalo Schifrin.
